Quick-Search
The Quick-Search allows you to quickly 'jump' (up or down) within the entry list (lower left) to find a specific entry.
In the following example, all the 288526 entries of the encyclopedia are listed in the entry list. You can find, e.g. the entry for the German river 'Sieg' by typing the letters 'sieg' (lower or upper case; typing the first letter will automatically open the Quick-Search window (red arrow)). After confirming your request, Hic Leones will jump to the first entry that matches the typed-in characters.
Since each and every entry in Hic Leones is indexed, the Quick-Search (as the name cunningly hints...) shows the result extremely fast, i.e. within 1-3 seconds, depending on the computer and its processor.
Move your mouse cursor over the red arrow (or 'Finden' (Find)) and see how the example works in Quick-Search. |

1. Hint: You will also find the same Quick-Search feature in the upper right window, where you select criteria for a Selection-Search; this is useful, e.g., for 'Regionen' (regions), as there are 693 regions to choose from.
2. Hint: If you are looking for "Les-Sièges" in France (the second part starts with "sieg"), you will not find it in this way, as the name starts with "les". Solutions: (a) you type "les si" in the Quick-Search window or (b) you carry out a Detail-Search. |
